The Story of JABB
JABB pictures was formed in 2008 by Jason Hoover.
He set out to create a production company to fulfill his dream of becoming a filmmaker. With the help of friends and family he began to assemble the equipment necessary to make this dream a reality. Knowing very little about computers and having no formal training in filmmaking, Jason upgraded his computer for editing and taught himself to use Final Cut editing software. Jason began to write and direct short films featuring his friends and family. The feedback from everyone including several movie reviewers was very positive, reassuring Jason that this was indeed his true calling. Jason has continued to write, direct, produce and edit his films and in November of 2009, JABB pictures released their first film "Spike" at HorrorHound Weekend in Cincinnati, OH.
The film has been reviewed by many of the top critics and podcasts in the horror genre. All of which, gave overwhelmingly positive reviews. "Spike" was also chosen as an Official Selection at the Fright Night Film Fest in Louisville, KY as well as many others. Ready to tackle his next project, Jason began to write his second film "Polly".
Only 80 days after the release of Spike, "Polly" debuted at the HorrorHound Weekend movie convention in March of 2010.
The film has been featured on the Mail Order Zombie Podcast receiving a 4 out of 5 rating, as well as many other horror review websites.
Following the success of Spike and Polly, JABB pictures organized and released a short film collection titled The Collective in March of 2011. The Collective has been heralded as the most unique short film collective the independant world has ever seen. Are you often dissatisfied with the low quality, lack of story, poor editing and overall disappointing final product that a lot of independent films provide? So are we. JABB pictures produces high quality ultra independent films with the vision and dedication of big budget blockbusters.
"If this is what Jason Hoover can do with no budget,
it will be amazing to see what happens
when they have one to work with."
